Axl Rose Onstage Meltdown Buenos Aires (1)

Guns N’ Roses kicked off their Latin American tour with a bang — and not the kind fans were expecting. Saturday night’s show at Estadio Huracán in Buenos Aires turned chaotic when Axl Rose had what can only be described as a full-on blow-up during the opening number.

As “Welcome to the Jungle” roared to life, Rose abruptly marched toward the drum riser and kicked Isaac Carpenter’s bass drum — twice — before launching his microphone into the kit and storming off. He peeled off his jacket and addressed the crowd with a tense, “So, I’ll just try and wing this!”

The moment, captured in fan videos now circulating online, has sparked debate over what triggered the outburst. Some speculate technical issues, others point to Carpenter’s recent arrival in the band following the departure of longtime drummer Frank Ferrer.

Whatever the cause, the meltdown was a jarring contrast to the band’s recent run of smooth, high-energy shows. Rose, who’s been relatively composed in recent years, reminded fans of the unpredictability that once defined GNR’s live legacy.
