Attila have booked four Russian shows for September 2026, in Moscow, St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg.
Attila have confirmed a short Russian run for next month, opening in Moscow on 12 September and closing in Yekaterinburg four days later. The Atlanta metalcore band become one of a small number of Western acts to schedule shows in the country since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The Moscow venue is listed under both VK Stadium and its former name, Adrenaline Stadium, across different ticketing platforms. Attila have not published a statement explaining the booking.
Touring Russia has been a dividing line in heavy music for four years. The bulk of Western artists stopped booking dates there after February 2022, citing sanctions, payment and insurance difficulties, and the reputational cost of performing in a country at war with its neighbour.
That position has softened at the margins. The Moscow Times reported in January that a small but growing group of Western acts had begun returning, among them Tyga, Gucci Mane and Jason Derulo, and noted that the pro-Kremlin newspaper Izvestia had put the number of foreign artists scheduled to perform in Russia during 2026 at “at least 20”. A Russian booking agency told the same paper it was planning between 20 and 30 concerts across pop, rock and rap for the year.
Within metal community, As I Lay Dying have been the most visible example. The band, fronted by Tim Lambesis, played three Russian shows in October 2025 at the start of their Shadows Are Security 20th-anniversary run, then announced a full arena tour of the country for March 2026 that ran from Krasnodar to Vladivostok.
Ill Niño had also been booked to play Russia this summer before pulling the dates in late July. The band posted a statement, then disabled comments on it.
“It is with deep regret that we must inform you that due to a family medical emergency, and the current escalating war tensions, ILL NIÑO must cancel the upcoming Russian tour dates, and postpone to 2027. We did not come to this decision lightly, as we miss all our Russian fans. Thank you, and see you all soon.”
Some acts have taken the opposite route. Silent Planet finished their European tour in June with two Ukrainian shows, at Atlas in Kyiv on 20 June and !FESTrepublic in Lviv on 21 June, becoming the first American band to perform in the country since the invasion began. Announcing the dates, the band said the tour would “culminate with two shows in Ukraine, celebrating the spirit of resistance in the face of tyranny.”
Attila formed in Atlanta in 2005 around vocalist Chris “Fronz” Fronzak and have released eight full-length albums. They spent the spring on a North American run supporting Russian deathcore band Slaughter To Prevail, alongside Whitechapel, which began 21 March in Nashville and finished 22 April in Minneapolis. The band were also added to the 2026 Vans Warped Tour and recently released a video for “ATL“, taken from a forthcoming album.
