As I Lay Dying‘s ninth album will be self-titled, run to ten tracks and arrive on February 5, 2027 through Napalm Records.

Details surfaced through an Apple Music listing ahead of any formal announcement. Tim Lambesis produced and engineered the record with bassist and clean vocalist Chris Clancy, and Ted Jensen, whose credits run from the Eagles to Billy Joel, mastered it.

Tracklist:

  1. “Satellites”
  2. “Echoes”
  3. “Relentless”
  4. “The Cost To Stay”
  5. “Polarized”
  6. “Retribution”
  7. “A Heart Meant To Break”
  8. “No Way Out”
  9. “If I Fall”
  10. “After The Storm”

Two of the ten have been available for close to a year. “Echoes” appeared in October 2025 and “If I Fall” followed in November, the first two recordings made by this version of the band. Neither had been confirmed for the album until now.

Lambesis said on September 8 that the band had recorded twelve songs intending to keep ten, and had not decided which two to drop. The plan was to release “Polarized” and “Retribution” and let listeners weigh in.

“So we finally finished recording the new As I Lay Dying album, and we did 12 songs with the intention of keeping 10. We’ve had a lot of conversations amongst us trying to figure out what those 10 songs are, and we figured we should bring you guys in on the conversation,” Lambesis stated at the time.

He described the two as deliberately chosen to show opposite ends of the record, calling “Polarized” “quite a bit more melodic, mid-tempo, a little bit more singing, but still very heavy and driving.”

Both songs sit on the track listing that has now appeared, at positions five and six. They are due online on September 15.

This is the first full album recorded by the current five-piece, and the third lineup to carry the As I Lay Dying name since 2019.

Lambesis is joined by Clancy, formerly of Mutiny Within, guitarists Bill Hudson of NorthTale and Don Vedda, and drummer Tim Yeung, previously of Morbid Angel and Divine Heresy. All four came in during 2025.

The band’s previous lineup came apart in late 2024, months after Through Storms Ahead was released in November of that year. Three members announced their departure in October 2024, citing personal morals, and by the end of the collapse Lambesis was the only member left. Former drummer Nick Pierce and guitarist Ken Susi have both since given detailed public accounts of what happened.

Lambesis pleaded guilty in February 2014 to soliciting the murder of his then-wife, was sentenced to six years that May and was released in December 2016. The band reformed in 2018.

Through Storms Ahead reached No. 14 in Austria, No. 26 in Germany and No. 33 on the UK rock and metal chart.

As I Lay Dying will also bring their 20th anniversary celebration for the album Shadows Are Security back to the United States this fall.
