As I Lay Dying Tease New Single ‘If I Fall’

Metalcore veterans As I Lay Dying are keeping their momentum alive following a turbulent year, teasing the release of their second comeback single, “If I Fall.” The track is set to premiere this Wednesday, November 19, offering fans another glimpse into the band’s rebuilt sound.

The announcement comes just over a month after the band broke their silence with the single “Echoes,” which served as the official debut for Tim Lambesis‘ latest lineup. That track emerged in October, marking the first new music since a dramatic mass exodus in late 2024 left Lambesis as the sole remaining member. The previous lineup’s dissolution was mired in controversy, with former members citing “concerning behavior” and moral conflicts as their reasons for departure.

Undeterred, Lambesis has once again reconstructed the band, recruiting a roster of veteran musicians to fill the ranks. The current iteration of As I Lay Dying features Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy, Morbid Angel) on drums, Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within) handling bass and clean vocals, and a guitar attack provided by Bill Hudson (NorthTale) and Don Vedda.

The writing credits for the previous single, “Echoes,” also listed War Of Ages guitarist Jack Daniels as a contributor, though he appears to have served as a studio guest rather than a permanent member. Upon its release, the band described the track as the start of a “new era,” stating:

“With a revitalized line-up, the song delivers massive riffs, intense rhythms and anthemic choruses, capturing themes of struggle, loss and rebirth.”

The tease for “If I Fall” lands immediately after the group wrapped up a major European headlining tour. The trek, which concluded just this past weekend, saw the new lineup celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark 2005 album, Shadows Are Security. The tour was a critical test for the new members, tasked with performing fan favorites from the band’s classic era while re-establishing As I Lay Dying as a live entity in the wake of significant public scrutiny.
