As I Lay Dying performed at Barba Negra in Budapest, Hungary, last night, November 3, with a completely new lineup supporting frontman Tim Lambesis. The show is part of the band’s current “An Evening With” European tour, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of their 2004 album, Shadows Are Security. You can watch some of the videos down below.
This tour is the first for the band’s 2025 iteration, which features Lambesis as the only remaining founding member. The new lineup was officially unveiled last month with the release of a new single, “Echoes.” The current members are: Chris Clancy (bass, clean vocals), Bill Hudson (guitar), Don Vedda (guitar), and Tim Yeung (drums).
At the time of the single’s release, Lambesis stated his commitment to continuing the band. “As the only primary songwriter on every As I Lay Dying album, I’m always going to a find a path forward for this catalog of music that I’m so passionate about,” he said. “I’m incredibly grateful for my new bandmates.”
Hudson added: “Tim L and I first met almost 20 years ago… It’s an honor to be a part of the new chapter of As I Lay Dying.”
This complete overhaul follows the mass exodus of the band’s previous lineup in late 2024. In October of last year, longtime guitarist Phil Sgrosso, bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff, guitarist Ken Susi, and drummer Nick Pierce all announced their departures from the group in separate statements. That collapse forced the cancellation of their planned “Through Storms Ahead” 2024 European tour.
The 2024 lineup change also occurred amid significant personal controversy for Lambesis. In November 2024, leaked videos surfaced showing Lambesis in violent outbursts around his third wife. Lambesis later released a statement accusing his wife of “physical and mental abuse.” This followed separate leaked security camera footage in January 2025 that appeared to show Lambesis hitting and kicking his dog.
As I Lay Dying continues its European tour tonight in Bratislava.
