As I Lay Dying will bring their 20th anniversary celebration for the album Shadows Are Security back to the United States this fall. The band, which returned last year with a significantly changed lineup, has spent much of the past year performing overseas, including appearances in Europe, Russia, and Israel.
The upcoming run is billed as the final series of dates dedicated to their 2005 breakthrough record. The tour is set to begin on November 20 in Roseville, California, and will conclude in early December.
Frontman Tim Lambesis released a statement regarding the significance of this tour and how looking back at the band’s history has impacted their current creative process. He noted that the nostalgia of the anniversary has provided a fresh perspective for the band’s upcoming studio work.
“I’ve had an incredible time celebrating Shadows Are Security over the past year and reconnecting with the mindset that shaped that album in the earliest days of As I Lay Dying. Reflecting on that chapter has been both nostalgic and deeply motivating—it’s reminded me of a spark that was always there, and that renewed perspective has absolutely influenced the way I’ve approached writing for the new album. These final anniversary dates are a chance to celebrate that connection one last time with the fans who have been part of this journey,” Lambesis shared.
The band also indicated that while these are the final anniversary shows, more extensive U.S. touring is being planned for early 2027.
A BandsInTown presale for the tour is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. local time, using the password ‘AILD’. Local venue presales will follow on Thursday, May 14. The general public on-sale is set for Friday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The tour marks the first major domestic run for the current version of the group, which saw a total membership overhaul last year following renewed controversy surrounding Tim Lambesis.
