Anthrax Announce First Australian Tour Since 2019

Thrash metal titans Anthrax have officially confirmed their return to Australian soil, announcing a massive four-date headline tour for March 2026. The run will mark the band’s first visit to the continent in seven years, ending a long drought for fans down under.

The tour kicks off on March 23 in Brisbane at the Fortitude Music Hall and hits major cities across the country before wrapping up in Sydney on March 28. The dates are as follows:

  • March 23 – Brisbane, Fortitude Music Hall
  • March 25 – Adelaide, Hindley St Music Hall
  • March 26 – Melbourne, Festival Hall
  • March 28 – Sydney, Enmore Theatre

The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the band, who are currently preparing to unleash their first new studio album in a decade. Drummer Charlie Benante recently took to social media to confirm that mixing for the long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s For All Kings is finally complete.

In a post on his Instagram story, Benante shared the news with typical New York attitude, revealing the record’s abrasive working title.

“We completed the new Anthrax album and it’s a Doozy,” Benante wrote. “The working album title is ‘hey, go fu** yourself’. It’s a very New York album. You can grab a slice and walk around and listen to it while eating.”

The new record was produced by longtime collaborator Jay Ruston, who also helmed the band’s previous two efforts, Worship Music (2011) and For All Kings. Significant portions of the recording and mixing process took place at Dave Grohl‘s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, adding a layer of rock history to the production.

With the album in the can, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest years in Anthrax‘s 45-year history. In addition to the Australian headline dates, the band is booked for a global trek supporting Iron Maiden on their “Run For Your Lives” world tour. Anthrax will join the metal legends for stadium dates across Europe in the summer before reuniting with them for select North American shows in the fall, including stops in Montreal, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and San Antonio.

Tickets for the Australian tour go on sale to the general public this Friday, November 28.
