Fans at the famed Hollywood Bowl were treated to a special collaboration on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, as Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee joined Grammy-nominated singer Halsey on stage for the first-ever live performance of their duet, “Hand That Feeds.” The powerful moment occurred during Evanescence‘s set, as they were supporting Halsey at the iconic venue. Fan-filmed video of the debut has since surfaced.

The track, “Hand That Feeds,” was penned for the upcoming ‘John Wick‘ spinoff movie, “Ballerina,” which stars Ana de Armas and is set for theatrical release on June 6, 2025. When the song was initially announced on May 6, Amy Lee expressed her excitement about the project and working with Halsey.

“So thrilled to bring you a new song, ‘Hand That Feeds‘ with Halsey,” Lee wrote on her social media. “We’ve been fans of each other’s work for a long time and it really feels like the universe pulled us together for this moment. We already had the Hollywood Bowl show in place when Lionsgate invited us to work on a song for the Ballerina Movie together, and it’s finally time to serve it UP! Cannot wait for you all to hear!!”

Halsey reciprocated the enthusiasm, sharing a snippet of the song with fans via text message and writing, “I really hope I see some of you guys on the For My Last Trick tour. Here is something to hold you over … (the answer is yes, I am freaking out about it).”

The collaboration is rooted in long-standing mutual admiration. Halsey has reportedly been a devoted fan of Evanescence since her childhood. While promoting her 2024 album The Great Impersonator, she paid homage to Amy Lee by recreating Evanescence‘s iconic Fallen album cover, calling Lee her “OG dark rock queen” on Instagram and even sharing a childhood photo of herself proudly wearing an Evanescence t-shirt, about which she wrote, “I wore that shirt into the ground.”

The Hollywood Bowl performance also marked another live debut for Evanescence. The band performed their other recent single, “Afterlife,” live for the first time during their set. “Afterlife,” co-written by Lee and Alex Seaver (also known as Mako), was released in March 2025 for the Netflix animated series “Devil May Cry.”

The upcoming film “Ballerina,” for which “Hand That Feeds” was created, is directed by Len Wiseman and produced by ‘John Wick’ director Chad Stahelski. The cast includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, the late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, with Ian McShane and Keanu Reeves also appearing alongside de Armas.
