After widespread speculation, a monumental musical collaboration is officially on the horizon, uniting three of rock and metal’s most prominent female voices. Amy Lee of Evanescence, Poppy, and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox have all shared a brief video teaser for a new collaborative track titled “End Of You.” The clip, which offers a snippet of the song and its accompanying video, has confirmed what fans have been hoping for since the trio posted a photo together earlier this week.

The project is widely believed to have been produced by former Bring Me The Horizon keyboardist Jordan Fish, who also shared the initial photo of the three artists. Fish‘s involvement makes perfect sense, as he has previously worked with both Poppy on her Negative Spaces album and Amy Lee on her collaboration with Halsey. While Spiritbox has not yet worked with him on a record, they have expressed a desire to in the past, and a collaboration between Fish and LaPlante has been a frequent topic of conversation among fans.

This collaboration carries an interesting subtext, stemming from a viral moment earlier this year at the Grammys where a red-carpet interviewer mistook LaPlante for Poppy. LaPlante famously played along with the mistake, turning the awkward moment into a humorous inside joke. “I am Poppy, and I am really happy to be here, nominated with Knocked Loose,” she said at the time, adding, “I would be the first woman to win this award. I actually haven’t looked at [how many women have been nominated previously] but I just always know that it’s time for one of us to win. I hope it’s me, or Spiritbox and Courtney.” The new collaboration gives that viral moment a new, more meaningful context, showcasing a bond between the artists that goes beyond just a shared red-carpet experience.

Fish, who has a history of producing unique vocalists and artists, spoke with NME about his work with Poppy, where he praised her distinctive talent. “Her scream is so cutting and aggressive, it almost makes you feel sick. It’s a horror scream, like someone’s being m*rdered. It’s so piercing that I couldn’t be in the room!” he explained. This latest teaser promises to be a powerful showcase of all three vocalists’ talents, bringing together their distinct styles in a highly anticipated release.
