Finnish metal giants Amorphis will be hitting the road across Europe in early 2027, announcing a major new run dubbed the “Borderland Tour 2027.” The band will be joined by fellow countrymen Insomnium and U.S. dark rock/metal outfit Unto Others, making for a diverse and powerful touring package.
The tour is scheduled to kick off on January 22, 2027 in Hamburg, Germany, and will stretch over three weeks before concluding on February 14 in Tilburg, Netherlands. In total, the run covers a wide sweep of Europe, including stops in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and France. See all dates below.
Tickets for all shows will be available this Friday, May 15 at 10:00 CEST via Amorphis.net.
The announcement arrives in the wake of strong continued interest in Amorphis’s fifteenth studio album Borderland, released in September 2025 through Reigning Phoenix Music.
Borderland has drawn attention from press worldwide for its melodic sensibilities and textural richness, with critics noting a potent blend of Amorphis’ trademark atmospherics and a renewed clarity in songwriting.
After recording four albums in a row in Sweden, Hansen Studios (Jacob Hansen, Denmark; Volbeat, Amaranthe, Primal Fear etc.) were the destination of choice in late 2024 and early 2025. The album artwork was designed by Dutch artist Marald Van Haasteren (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Kvelertak, Alcest etc.) this time.
Besides newly collaborating with Hansen and Van Haasteren, Amorphis still rely on the lyrical craftsmanship of Pekka Kainulainen, who’s been courageously writing for the band since their 2007 offering Silent Waters. About his inspiration for Borderland, Kainulainen previous commented: “The generations that came here before us, our ancestors, also had to face death and destruction. Honouring the mythologies of mankind, as well as the listeners of Amorphis, I wrote lyrics that hopefully convey some of the humility and strength that mankind has always depended on.”
