With the release of their self-titled eighth studio album now only days away, Alter Bridge have unveiled one last preview ahead of its official arrival. The track, titled “Scales Are Falling,” offers another dose of the band’s trademark hard rock sound from the core lineup of Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips.

Lyrically, the song centers on the clarity that comes when illusions fall away, capturing the emotional weight of recognizing betrayal and finally confronting the truth behind it.

Commenting on the song’s meaning, Myles Kennedy said: “It’s when you realize the reality of a situation where you’ve been deceived. You see the truth and how harsh it is.”

Mark Tremonti added: “I was excited for this one. It has an atmospheric vibe with a lot of peaks, valleys, and moods. I solo over the bridge, and Myles plays the outro.”

Scales Are Falling” is now streaming on all major digital platforms. A new visualizer for the track, crafted by Marcin Pospiech (Nine Inch Nails, Tool), has also been released and is available to watch below.

After over twenty years of global dominance, Alter Bridge continues their relentless momentum with the announcement of their self-titled eighth studio album. Set for release on January 9, 2026, via Napalm Records, the record promises to uphold the band’s reputation for massive riffs and the signature dual-guitar precision of Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti. Physical pre-orders for Alter Bridge are live now.

Recorded over two months this past spring, the quartet split their time between the legendary 5150 studio in California and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette’s Florida facility. The resulting 12 tracks represent some of the most ambitious work in the Alter Bridge catalog.

Fans have already gravitated toward the lead single, “Silent Divide,” which has surpassed 2 million views and continues to climb the Active Rock charts. The album also features unique vocal experiments; on “Trust In Me,” Myles Kennedy handles the verses while Mark Tremonti takes the chorus, a dynamic that is reversed on the heavy-hitting “Tested And Able.” The journey concludes with “Slave To Master,” an epic closer that clocks in as the longest song the band has ever recorded.
