“Be As Kings, Be As Gods” arrives with the producer who made the album the band are currently celebrating.

All Shall Perish have released “Be As Kings, Be As Gods“, their first new song since 2011.

The track comes out through Arson Theory, a music company co-founded by the band’s vocalist Eddie Hermida, and lands the day before the band open a tour marking twenty years of The Price Of Existence.

Zack Ohren produced the single, and that is not a neutral choice. Ohren produced The Price Of Existence at Castle Ultimate Studios in 2006, and engineered its follow-up Awaken The Dreamers two years later. He has since worked with Fallujah and Machine Head, among others.

The band’s first new material in a decade and a half was made by the man who shaped the record they are currently on the road to celebrate.

The Price Of Existence was released on August 8, 2006 through Nuclear Blast. It was All Shall Perish‘s second album and the first to feature Hermida on vocals and Chris Storey on lead guitar, both of whom had replaced members who appeared only on the 2003 debut Hate, Malice, Revenge.

Its opening single “Eradication” got a video onto MTV2‘s “Headbangers Ball“, and the album became one of the defining records of early deathcore. A remastered reissue accompanies the anniversary.

The “Price Of Existence” 20th anniversary tour opens on September 4 at Strummer’s in Fresno, California, with Carnifex, Extermination Dismemberment and Mauled on the bill throughout.

  • Sep 04 – Strummer’s, Fresno, CA
  • Sep 05 – The Observatory, Santa Ana, CA
  • Sep 06 – Goldfield Trading Post, Roseville, CA
  • Sep 08 – Urban Lounge, Salt Lake City, UT
  • Sep 09 – The Oriental Theater, Denver, CO
  • Sep 11 – Wooly’s, Des Moines, IA
  • Sep 12 – Reggies, Chicago, IL
  • Sep 13 – St. Andrew’s Hall, Detroit, MI

Further dates follow.

All Shall Perish formed in Oakland in 2002 out of members of the Bay Area bands Antagony, End Of All and Boof, and are generally counted among the earliest deathcore bands. They released four albums through Nuclear Blast, the last being This Is Where It Ends in 2011.

The band went quiet through the following decade and stopped operating altogether around 2020, before reuniting in 2024 with the lineup that made The Price Of Existence: Hermida, Storey, guitarist Ben Orum and drummer Matt Kuykendall.

Part of the reason for the long silence is that Hermida has fronted Suicide Silence since 2013, taking over there after the death of Mitch Lucker.
