Former Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz has officially launched her solo era — and she isn’t wasting any time. Only hours after the band confirmed her exit, the singer addressed fans directly before unveiling “The Room Where She Died,” the first single from her upcoming solo debut.
In her personal statement, Alissa reflected on her 12-year run with Arch Enemy and thanked supporters who have followed her through countless tours and four studio albums: “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways. I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way. Thank you, Beastlings!
Her departure marks the end of a major era; since joining the band in 2014, White-Gluz appeared on War Eternal, Will To Power, Deceivers, and the 2025 album Blood Dynasty. But as that chapter closes, she is already pushing forward into new creative territory.
Her first step into that new world comes with “The Room Where She Died,” a dark, atmospheric track written musically by Kamelot keyboardist Oliver Palotai. Alissa handled the full vocal process herself — writing, recording, and performing every layer.
The single arrives alongside a dramatic video produced by Serbian visual team iCODE, built on a script conceived by Alissa. The clip’s haunting tone mirrors the emotional range she explores in the song.
Sharing her excitement about the track, she added: “I hope you love this first offering from my upcoming solo album.
“‘The Room Where She Died’ is a song that feels truly satisfying to me; like I get to express myself in so many ways that have been dormant for years.
“This upcoming album is diverse; and I love the idea of opening up this new chapter with this song and video, which I wrote the script for.”
