Four decades into their legendary career, New York Hardcore pioneers Agnostic Front have announced a new, “unapologetically fierce” album, Echoes in Eternity, and have shared its politically charged first single, “Way of War.” In a powerful statement that proves their socio-political fire is burning as brightly as ever, the band described the new track as a “sign of the times” and a condemnation of “corrupt politicians greed.”
The new album, the band’s first in several years, is scheduled for release on November 7 via Reigning Phoenix Music. The album’s opener and first single, “Way of War,” is described as a “relentless storm of driving rhythms and aggressive vocal chants” and serves as an “abrasive and raucous display of power against injustice.”
In a statement accompanying the single’s release, the band explained the track’s timely and urgent message.
The band said:
“The track is very much a sign of the times! How the corrupt politicians greed pulls us and many other nations into senseless wars. These actions unfortunately, come with casualties that civilians never call for. It’s the way of war.”
The album announcement comes as the hardcore legends prepare to hit the road for two extensive tours this fall and winter. First, the “East Meets West Tour” will see them team up with punk veterans Strung Out (who will be performing their classic album Exile In Oblivion in its entirety), Murphy’s Law, and La Armada for a run across the Western United States. That will be immediately followed by an East Coast tour in December with support from Raw Brigade and Violent Way.
The combination of a politically charged new album and a relentless touring schedule shows that Agnostic Front remains one of the most vital and uncompromising forces in hardcore punk.
