It was announced today that KISS lead guitarist Tommy Thayer will be joining Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley for a rare “unmasked” electric performance during the KISS Army Storms Vegas event, set for November 14–16 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Tickets are available now at kissarmystormsvegas.com.
The epic weekend will also feature performances from former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach, metal band Black ‘N Blue (which once featured Thayer on lead guitar), and KISS tribute acts Mr. Speed and KISS Nation: The KISS Tribute Show. KISS Army founders Bill Starkey and Jay Evans are slated to make special appearances throughout the event. This celebration is being produced by KISS in partnership with Pophouse, Topeka (the boutique music vacation creators), and Vibee, a company known for crafting music-centered destination experiences.
KISS Army Storms Vegas will honor both the 50th anniversary of the KISS Army and the 30th anniversary of the first official KISS fan convention. The weekend will include exclusive Q&A sessions with band members, a special panel featuring longtime KISS manager Doc McGhee, a live performance from former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, interactive fan experiences, and more. A full schedule and additional guests will be announced soon.
Experience packages for the three-day celebration start at $999 (before taxes) and are selling quickly and you can buy them here. These packages are exclusively available through Vibee and include a three-night stay at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, access to the “KISS Unmasked Electric” show, Q&As and panels with KISS members and guests, all scheduled performances and activities, a curated gift bundle, a signed event poster, photo ops with iconic KISS memorabilia, and a collectible laminate and lanyard. In a previous statement, Gene Simmons confirmed they will hold true to their promise about “unmasked show”. He shared in a statement: “We will not do the makeup,” he told. “We will hold true to the promise [of never playing another KISS show in makeup]. There’s no stage show. There’s no crew. We won’t have 60 people levitating drum sets and all that stuff. This is more personal gathering of the tribes, where we meet them, greet them, maybe have a Q&A.”
