Reactivated sludge metal legends Acid Bath have locked in another California date for the fall. The newly announced show hits the Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, California on October 10, with support from Grammy Award-winning sludge crew High On Fire, proto-grunge and sludge pioneers Melvins, and doom outfit Windhand.
The Santa Cruz stop comes after a change of plans elsewhere in the state. Acid Bath had originally been set to headline the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California on August 29, but that date was ultimately scrapped. More recently, the band was added as support for Danzig on September 26 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The new show is the latest in an ongoing string of reunion concerts for the New Orleans-bred band, who returned to the stage in 2025 after nearly three decades away. With surviving members now joined by Goatwhore drummer Zack Simmons and Crowbar bassist Shane Wesley, the group has steadily built out one of metal’s most talked-about comebacks.
Acid Bath shocked the underground heavy metal scene when they officially reunited for live shows last year. The cult-favorite band had been on an extended hiatus for over two decades following the tragic passing of bassist Audie Pitre in January 1997. During their long absence, their two studio albums, When The Kite String Pops and Paegan Terrorism Tactics, became legendary within the doom and sludge metal communities.
After canceling their initially planned comeback at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, the long-awaited reunion officially kicked off on April 25, 2025, in their hometown of New Orleans.
