Ace Frehley, the iconic original lead guitarist and founding member of KISS, is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a serious brain injury. The 74-year-old musician has been hospitalized and placed on life support, according to a new report from TMZ.
Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Frehley suffered a brain bleed following a fall in his home studio a few weeks ago. The injury forced him to cancel all remaining 2025 tour dates, as his condition made performing and travel impossible. Unfortunately, his health has since deteriorated, and he’s been on a ventilator for an extended period.
The report adds that Frehley’s family is considering ending life support, potentially as early as Thursday evening, as his prognosis remains dire.
The distressing news follows mounting rumors throughout the day. Earlier, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett took to Facebook, writing: “I am hearing rumors of Ace Frehley’s passing just an hour or so ago. I hope not!!!”
He later followed up with another post, stating: “My understanding is that he passed and the family has not released any press yet.”
While no official confirmation has been released by Frehley’s family or representatives, the TMZ report paints a deeply concerning picture of the beloved guitarist’s condition.
