Stevie Young has returned to the stage with AC/DC, performing a full set in Buenos Aires just days after a brief hospitalization raised concerns among fans.
The guitarist took part in the band’s March 23 show at Estadio Monumental, powering through all 21 songs in front of an estimated 85,000 fans. His performance came only four days after news broke that he had been admitted to a hospital in the Argentinian capital ahead of the band’s scheduled run of shows.
According to Reuters, Stevie was hospitalized on Thursday, March 19. At the time, a spokesperson for AC/DC moved quickly to reassure fans, stating: “Out of an abundance of caution, [Stevie] was admitted to a local hospital where he is undergoing a full battery of tests. Stevie is doing well and is in good spirits. He is looking forward to getting on stage on Monday.”
The concert marked the first of three scheduled performances at Estadio Monumental, with additional dates set for March 27 and March 31 as part of AC/DC’s ongoing Power Up world tour, which launched in 2024.
Stevie has since performed on both Rock or Bust and Power Up, helping guide the band through a transitional era after Malcolm’s passing in 2017. Over the years, he has remained a consistent force on stage, from the “Rock or Bust World Tour” through to their current global trek.
With his return now confirmed, AC/DC’s Buenos Aires residency is continuing as planned, with fans set to pack the stadium once again later this week.
