Granny Crowd Surfing 2026

A 99-year-old woman has officially set a new global benchmark after being recognized as the oldest person to ever crowd surf at a music concert. Pauline Kana achieved the historic feat during country star Brantley Gilbert’s performance at Kid Rock’s Rock the Country festival, held at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville, Texas on May 2.

The momentous event unfolded in front of a 20,000-strong audience. Brantley Gilbert introduced Pauline Kana, widely known as “Gangster Granny” across social media platforms, to the massive crowd from the stage before she was carefully strapped onto a cushioned, cot-like flat surface to safely complete her ride across the audience.

Before she was lifted above the crowd, the country star took to the microphone to announce the historic attempt:

“Granny here is going to become the oldest woman to crowd surf.”

As she moved across multiple rows of people, the crowd erupted into a thunderous chant of “Granny! Granny! Granny!”. Following the ride, Brantley Gilbert met her with immense enthusiasm, telling her: “That was awesome.”

The extraordinary feat has been fully validated and logged by Guinness World Records. To celebrate her official entry into the record books, Pauline Kana held up her newly minted certificate at the conclusion of a viral video documenting the attempt, exclaiming:

“I did it! I’m the greatest of all time!”

The global reference and documentation resource formally confirmed her achievement on their platform, stating:

Pauline crowd surfed over multiple rows of people at the tender age of 99, achieving this rocking Guinness World Records title.”

Pauline Kana, who will officially celebrate her 100th birthday this coming August, is already an established online phenomenon. Alongside her grandson, content creator Ross Smith, the duo has amassed a staggering multi-million-user following across the internet, including four million followers on Instagram and over 25 million on TikTok. Reflecting on the incredible reception from the Texas audience, Ross Smith shared his own reaction to the historic moment on social media:

“Thank you to all the 20,000 people for making this happen. I still have chills listening to that Granny chant. What an iconic and funny moment.”

The record-breaking festival appearance adds another legendary chapter to Pauline Kana‘s online legacy, which has long entertained millions through high-energy, humorous content that continuously redefines traditional expectations of aging.
